our lighthouse

theres IS A LIGHT HOUSE ON THE HILLSIDE
THAT OVER LOOKS LIFE'S SEA
AND WHEN MY SOUL IS TOSSED,IT SENDS OUT A LIGHT, SO THAT I MIGHT SEE

AND THE LIGHT THAT SHINES IN DARKNESS
NOW SAFELY LEADS ME HOME
AND IF IT WASN'T FOR THE LIGHTHOUSE
THIS SHIP WOULD BE NO MORE.

EVERYBODY THAT LIVES AROUND US
SAYS TEAR THAT LIGHT HOUSE DOWN
CAUSE THE BIG SHIPS DON'T PASS THIS WAY ANYMORE
THERE'S NO USE OF IT HANGING ROUND.

BUT MY MIND GOES BACK TO ONE STORMY NIGHTWHEN JUST IN TIME, I SAW THE LIGHT
IT WAS THE LIGHT FROM THAT OLD LIGHTHOUSETHERE UP ON THE HILL.
I THANK GOD FOR THE LIGHT HOUSEI OWE MY LIFE TO HIMFOR JESUS IS THE LIGHTHOUSE
AND FROM THE ROCKS OF SIN
HE HAS SHOWN A LIGHT AROUND ME
SO THAT I MIGHT CLEARLY SEEAND IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT LIGHTHOUSEWHERE WOULD THIS SHIP BE. why is it we only need a lighthouse when times are rough we only pray when thing are not going our way then we blame god for things . our way dont make it rite . we have this perfect plan for our life or what we think is the perfect plan and the sundely things dont go as planned or as we plan them to . or do they stop planning our life for what we want and open your heart for what jesus want for us.he only wants the best for us.so instead of only looking for god in rough times and then once hes answered our prayers we put him back in that little box only to be used in emergency keep it open keep an eyes on that lighthouse all the time .dont go throw life in darkness when .when jesus is the light of the world

do we have time.

the world is so messed up with everything thats gone on the last twenty years the year is 2007 yet were destroying ourselfs why.just read whats below and and see if its sounds familiar if so we are near the end when our father in heaven will be calling us to be with him read this 1Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2"Do you see all these things?" he asked. "I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."
3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.
9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
15"So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,'[b] spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let no one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house. 18Let no one in the field go back to get his cloak. 19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again. 22If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.
26"So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.
29"Immediately after the distress of those days " 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'[c]
30"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32"Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[d]is near, right at the door. 34I tell you the truth, this generation[e] will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
The Day and Hour Unknown 36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45"Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,' 49and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. we get so use to doing whats rite for us we forget what jesus no is rite for us time is running out for us all .you can have all the wealth and possesions and not no god .what is the point you cant take it with you yet .the best tresure is to no god dont keep leaving it for tomorrow .tomorrow may never come .he could call us rite now to be with him.in which there is no tomorrow

Morden Baptist Church from the front.
Morden Baptist Church is a Baptist church in the London Borough of Merton. The church building is on Crown Lane part of the Morden one-way system.

[edit] History of the church
In 1880 Morden was a place of cornfields and cattle, a country district with three little far sundered groups of houses. Each group of houses had a public house at its centre. Those public houses can still be found - "The Plough","The George" and "The Crown".In 1885, those who visited this part ... found roads marked out but not made up, field paths, traversing which they had to climb over gates and stiles which guarded railway lines, along which half-dozen trains meandered daily ... and then the cornfields and cattle came into view.
On a certain Sunday evening in 1885 a little company of "Lovers of Jesus" gathered in one of the shops in [what is now] London Road to hold a simple evangelistic service. They met, and sang, and prayed and read the Scriptures. Near Morden one of the iron building firms had a few sample buildings on show. When they abandoned the pitch, they offered an iron chapel for sale and Queens Road Church Wimbledon, London offered to buy it for Morden".

The "Tin Tabernacle" erected in 1896 on the Crown Road site
In 1915 the membership was only 16. However the extension of the Northern Line and development of Merton Park, Morden and St Helier Estates resulted in the numbers of church members rising to 84. 1929 saw the fellowship moving across the road from the 'Tin Chapel' to the "new" School Hall. This building still remains, and is now used for sports, playgroup, luncheon club and other activities. From small beginnings above a shop in 1885, who could have foreseen that exactly 50 years later, a new chuch would be needed (in addition to the School Hall) to accommodate the rapidly growing fellowship. So on the 9th March 1935, the new church was formally opened.
As Morden ceased to be a quiet rural parish, and become part of London's suburbia, so the Church grew, developed and changed. This growth took place during a period of extraordinarily rapid and significant change. Not only locally but worldwide. Changes, in culture, industry, travel and communications. Morden centre changed during this period......Caters supermarket opened...Odeon Cinemas demolished...Co Op shut...yellow lines introduced...Civic Centre of Merton transferred to Morden from Wimbledon...one way traffic system...bus lanes and...red routes.
As the church continued to grow and respond to the needs of the community, so the old buildings proved inadequate to meet those needs. In 1990 a very substantial building scheme was undertaken to provide the current improved facilities, an including an enclosed concourse new offices and a sound-proofed cresh with a view into the main church. Morden Baptist Church now stands with the main entrance facing up Crown Lane part of the Morden one way system.

[edit] Leadership
The Current Minister is Rev Gavin Murry, there is also an associate minister Ellen Wild and a youth minister Dave Marvin. These are also 'Elders' elected from the congregtion for a term of 5 year. Currently there are three elders whose role is to be the spiritual leaders of the congregation, responsible guiding growth and development of the church both, internally and though links with the community, part of there role is also for seeking future vision and care of the full time leaders. enough on the history i been to a few churches in the past they realy are a good bunch here do you ever wonder is there more to life than this well there is and to help you along your journy they will guild you answering questions along the way. i not realy one for poems but this one says it all One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he waswalking along the beach with the Lord. Across thesky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, henoticed two sets of footprints in the sand: onebelonging to him, and the other to the Lord. Whenthe last scene of his life flashed before him, helooked back at the footprints in the sand. Henoticed that many times along the path of his lifethere was only one set of footprints. He also noticedthat it happened at the very lowest and saddesttimes in his life. This really bothered him and hequestioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said thatonce I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me allthe way. But I have noticed that during the mosttroublesome times in my life, there is only one setof footprints. I don't understand why when I neededyou most you would leave me." The Lord replied,"My son, My precious child, I love you and I wouldnever leave you. During your times of trial andsuffering, when you see only one set of footprints, itwas then that I Carried You." this realy says it all
